How to build and use it

Set out your parts and read the instructions first. Sort the laser-cut sheets by letter or number if the sheet is marked. Dry-fit the walls and floor before you glue anything. Add glue only where the instructions call for it, since some joints hold well on their own.

Work in short sessions if you like. A small tray keeps tiny pieces from rolling away. Tweezers help with the smallest parts. Once the room is built, thread the LED string through the scene and tuck the battery pack behind or under the base.

Place the finished room on a shelf, a desk, or a side table. The dust cover slides over the top to keep dust off the details. Turn the light on in the evening for a warm glow.

Care and display notes

The wood and paper parts do not like moisture. Keep the finished room away from sinks, humidifiers, and open windows on rainy days. Dust the outside with a soft dry cloth or a small brush. The dust cover does most of the work, so use it when the room is not lit.

Take the batteries out if you will not use the light for a long stretch. Store the room upright and out of direct sun, since strong light can fade paper and fabric over time. If a small part comes loose, a dot of craft glue puts it back in place.
